The Whites need to strengthen their defense this winter. Reports in the Italian media claim that Leeds United are keen on Fiorentina centre-back Igor Julio. The 24-year-old has been subject to interest from various European clubs.

Fiorentina spent 5.3 million euros to sign the Brazil international from SPAL in the summer of 2021. He is under contract until the summer of 2025.

The centre-back has featured in 20 matches for Fiorentina this term in all competitions.

The 24-year-old is being linked to La Liga sides Atletico Madrid, Sevilla and Real Betis.”

Leeds United might have to pay over the odds to sign the centre-back.

Nevertheless, Julio stands as an excellent option for Leeds. A centre-back of Julio’s ceiling will be a massive addition to Leeds squad as he will not only improve the overall quality of Jesse Marsch’s starting XI but also add some stability and variety to his defensive department.

Stylistically, he would be a great fit at Elland Road.

Leeds fans would certainly love to see him arrive at the club.
