Newcastle are reportedly keeping a close eye on many wingers across the Europe. British source claim that Newcastle United are preparing mega move for Napoli star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Napoli spent 10 million euros to sign the Georgia international from Dinamo Batumi in the summer of 2022. The 22-year-old has four years left on his current contract which expires in 2027.

The winger has found the back of the net on 11 occasions and picked up 14 assists in 23 matches this season across various competitions.

The 22-year-old is considered to be the best footballer in Georgia. Kvaratskhelia has also left his mark at the international stage after netting 10 goals in 18 senior appearances for the Georgia national team.

His performances have seen him become the target of many European clubs including Newcastle.

Adding a winger remains Newcastle’s top priority this summer and Eddie Howe will have drafted a shortlist of a number of possible targets he could approach in the coming months. The report claims that Newcastle manager has extensively scouted Kvaratskhelia and is considering a move for the winger.

Someone with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s skillset and potential will no doubt be an excellent signing for Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe. There is no doubt that Kvaratskhelia will take Newcastle’s attack to a different level.

According to the report, “Newcastle United are ready to test Napoli’s resolve this summer for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. The Georgia winger has been outstanding for the runaway Serie A leaders this season. Football Insider says Newcastle is stepping up their interest in Kvaratskhelia. Any move for Kvaratskhelia, however, will probably require qualifying for the Champions League. Napoli are expected to demand at least €100m to sell. They paid €10m to Dinamo Batumi for Kvaratskhelia last summer after he was allowed to end his contract with Rubin Kazan due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.”

The Seria A giants are not in a position where they need to sell and would like to keep hold of the winger, but offers of at least 100 million euros may force the club to consider a deal.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia ideal fit for Newcastle United?

If Newcastle and Howe are seriously considering a winger, Kvaratskhelia could also prove to be a smart option.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has all the skillset required to be a success story at St. James’ Park. Therefore, it makes sense for Eddie Howe to step up his attempts to bring the Georgian winger to Premier League side.

Stylistically, he would be a great fit in Newcastle.
