Tottenham linked with Everton star Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly planning to renew their interest in Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin during the upcoming January transfer window.

Ange Postecoglou is said to be seeking a more physical presence up front, and Calvert-Lewin seems to fit the bill with his stature and extensive Premier League experience.

According to Fichajes, Tottenham are looking to capitalize on Calvert-Lewin’s contract situation at Everton. The England international’s current deal runs until the summer of 2025, but he has reportedly turned down an offer to extend his stay at Goodison Park.

At 27 years old, Calvert-Lewin is believed to be searching for a fresh challenge, and Spurs could be ready to offer him a move in the January window.

Known for his heading ability, clever movement in the box, and sharpness in front of goal, Calvert-Lewin stands out as a traditional No. 9. His physicality and presence make him a formidable target man, and at 191 cm tall, he’s particularly dangerous in the air. Despite these qualities, Calvert-Lewin’s goal-scoring record—84 goals in 295 career appearances—falls short of some of the Premier League’s elite strikers. However, it’s worth noting that much of his career has been hampered by injuries, limiting his ability to maintain consistent form. When fit, though, he has demonstrated his potential to be a highly effective striker.

Internationally, Calvert-Lewin has made 11 appearances for the England national team, scoring four goals. Although he hasn’t cemented a regular starting spot for the Three Lions, his performances have been noteworthy, and his aerial prowess makes him a valuable option when needed. His ability to outmuscle defenders and hold up play adds an extra dimension to any team, and this is a key reason Tottenham are so keen to bring him to North London.

World Football Rumours

As of now, Calvert-Lewin’s market value stands at around €22 million, according to Transfermarkt. This valuation, combined with his contract status, could make him an attractive target for Spurs, who are in need of a proven striker following the departure of their all-time leading scorer, Harry Kane, to Bayern Munich last summer. Calvert-Lewin’s strength, aerial ability, and hold-up play draw natural comparisons to Kane, and it is believed that Postecoglou’s tactical setup could allow him to thrive, much like Kane did in his time at Tottenham.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Adding Calvert-Lewin to Tottenham’s forward line would provide both depth and competition. Spurs have been actively searching for a player who can fill the void left by Kane’s departure, and Calvert-Lewin’s physical attributes and experience in the Premier League make him a strong candidate for the role. A move to Tottenham would also present Calvert-Lewin with the opportunity to play on a larger stage, where he could push his career to new heights.

As the January transfer window draws closer, Tottenham’s interest in Calvert-Lewin is expected to grow. With the striker seemingly eager for a fresh challenge and Everton facing the possibility of losing him for a reduced fee, the Merseyside club may be forced to make a tough decision.

If Spurs move forward with a serious offer, Calvert-Lewin could soon find himself wearing the white of Tottenham and taking the next big step in his career.
