Marco Asensio’s time at Real Madrid could soon end as a whole host of clubs are lining up to sign him. According to multiple reports emanating from England, Liverpool have joined the hunt for Real Madrid winger Marco Asensio.
The Spain international joined Real from Mallorca for a fee in the region of 3.9 million euros in the summer of 2015. His contract expires in the summer of 2023.
The winger has featured in 15 matches for Real this term, netting 3 goals and providing 3 assists in all competitions.
He’s incredibly experienced for a 26-year-old and still has tons of room for growth.
As a member of Spain national football team, Asensio won 34 caps and he scored 2 goals.
There has been no movement on Asensio agreeing a contract extension at Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, and he will be on the radar of many European clubs during the winter.
His performances have seen him become the target of many clubs including Liverpool.
The report claims that Liverpool manager has extensively scouted Asensio and is considering a move for the winger. Jürgen Klopp is a known admirer of the player and is reportedly keen on the idea of bringing him this winter.
The former Mallorca man will add more quality to Liverpool’s attack.

The attacking midfielder, who can also play on the wings, has played a key role for Spain at the World Cup so far. While Asensio is not a regular at Real, he is important to Spain boss Luis Enrique. Per The Mirror, Liverpool are long-term admirers of Asensio and will make a move for him in January. However, they add that Bayern and Juve are also interested, and will look to secure his signature. Asensio may move for a modest fee in January, or he may sign a pre-contract to move on a free transfer in the summer.”
If Liverpool can agree on a fee with Real, the deal should be easy to complete.
