Chelsea are reportedly keeping a close eye on many centre-backs across the Europe. According to multiple reports emanating from England, Monaco centre-back Benoit Badiashile is in advanced negotiations with Chelsea.

The 21-year-old has come through the youth ranks of Monaco and has successfully managed to establish himself as a key member of their senior team. His contract at Monaco is set to expire at the end of the 2023/24 campaign.

The centre-back has found the back of the net on two occasions in 16 matches for Monaco this season across various competitions.

The 21-year-old has been touted as one of the brightest young prospects in France. Badiashile has represented France at Under-16, Under-17, Under-18, Under-19 and Under-21 level, winning 45 caps, before making his senior international debut in September 2022. As a member of France national football team, Badiashile won two caps.

Badiashile was the subject of a bid from Newcastle United earlier in the year but picked up an injury after talks were initiated and Eddie Howe’s side moved on to other targets and ultimately reverted back to signing Sven Botman.”
