Nottingham Forest join Fulham in race for Everton midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure
Abdoulaye Doucoure’s time at Everton could soon end as a whole host of clubs are lining up to sign him. According to multiple reports emanating from England, Nottingham Forest have joined Fulham in race for Everton midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure.
The 29-year-old has been with Everton since 2020, having signed for the club from Watford for 22 million euros. His current deal expires in 2023 (Everton have an option for one more year).
The midfielder has made 8 appearances for Everton but is yet to score or register an assist for them this season across all fronts.
The 29-year-old is considered to be one of the best midfielders in Mali. As a member of Mali national football team, Doucoure won two caps.
Nottingham Forest are delving into the transfer market for an experienced midfielder and have done well to identify the 29-year-old as a potential target. Steve Cooper is a known admirer of the player and is reportedly keen on the idea of bringing him this winter.
The Tricky Trees are in the market for just a handful of statement signings who can improve the first-team.
The former Watford man has the talent to play many roles in midfield. His arrival would give Nottingham some much needed tactical flexibility. The 29-year-old has the quality and the experience to make an immediate impact.

According to the report, “Everton midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure is attracting rival Premier League interest. The Daily Mail says Nottingham Forest have joined Fulham in the chase for Doucoure. The 29-year-old hasn’t started a Premier League game since August and is out of contract in the summer, though Everton hold an option. Fulham manager Marco Silva has previously worked with Doucoure at Everton and Watford so knows the Mali international well. Forest manager Steve Cooper is open to strengthening his midfield further particularly with players of Premier League experience.”
Nottingham will have to come up with the right proposal to convince Doucoure to join the club.
The Toffees will be ready to part ways with the midfielder should the right offer arrives.
