Real Madrid interested in Manchester United right-back Diogo Dalot

The Spanish giants are reportedly keeping a close eye on many right-backs across the Europe. According to multiple reports emanating from Spain, Real Madrid are interested in Manchester United right-back Diogo Dalot.

The 23-year-old has been with Manchester United since 2018, having signed for the club from Porto for 22 million euros. His contract at Manchester United is set to expire at the end of the 2023/24 campaign.

The right-back has banged in one goals and provided three assists in 25 matches this term on all fronts.

He is considered to be one of the best right-backs in Portugal. The Manchester United right-back has also represented the Portugal at various youth levels before going on to secure 10 senior caps for his country thus far.

Carlo Ancelotti sees Dalot as the perfect addition to his defense. Ancelotti is a known admirer of the player and is reportedly keen on the idea of bringing him this summer.

La Liga giants will have funds to spend in the market and it will be interesting to see how they approach the summer transfer window.

The former Porto man will add a new dimension to Real’s defense. He has the quality and the experience to make an immediate impact.

According to the report, “Real Madrid are interested in Manchester United fullback Diogo Dolot. The Portugal international has just seen his contract extended by 12 months thanks to an option triggered by United. AS says Real are interested in Dalot and weighing up making a summer bid for the fullback. Real Madrid needs to strengthen the right-side of its defence. Dani Carvajal just turned 32 and Lucas Vázquez turns 33 in June. There is the Vinicius Tobías option from Castilla, but he is expected to be joined by a more experienced alternative, with Dalot a player now being watched.”

The Red Devils feel under no pressure to sell and will “demand a significant fee” before letting him go.

Real Madrid might have to pay over the odds to sign the right-back.

The right-back has his peak years ahead of him and would be a good acquisition for Real Madrid if they can find a way to bring him on board during the summer transfer window.

The 23-year-old could be a good fit for Carlo Ancelotti’s Real.
