Reports suggest that the Italian football team, Salernitana, has their sights set on Everton’s Neal Maupay. The French striker is in high demand ahead of the summer transfer window, with Paulo Sousa’s Salernitana and Ligue 1 side Nice both keenly interested in his services.
While Salernitana’s management is hoping that Everton will be open to the idea of Maupay leaving, it remains to be seen whether the English club will be willing to let him go so soon after signing him. Maupay joined Everton in August 2022, committing to a three-year deal with an option for an additional year, but has struggled to secure regular playing time this season.
Despite featuring in 26 games for Everton, Maupay has only managed to score one goal and provide one assist. Nevertheless, his current market value is reportedly 13 million euros, according to Transfermarkt.

Interestingly, Maupay began his career with Nice and was a France youth international. However, he is also eligible to play for the Argentina national team through his parent and expressed his interest to play for them in February 2022. He put in a personal request to Argentina boss Lionel Scaloni to consider selecting him.
A move away from Everton could potentially provide Maupay with the opportunity to reignite his career and showcase his talent in a new league. Salernitana and Nice are just two of the teams interested in the French striker, and it remains to be seen where he will end up. Nevertheless, it is certain that his future will be a topic of much discussion as the summer transfer window approaches.
