As a member of England national football team, Calvert-Lewin won 11 caps and he scored four goals.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been identified as one of the key targets to improve the attacking department. The England international is thought to perfectly fit the profile of striker Howe wants to target in the winter transfer window.

The Magpies are in the market for just a handful of statement signings who can improve the first-team.

The former Sheffield United man is a traditional number nine, who can become the focal point of the attack. He can become a target man and hold the ball up to bring other forwards into play. The England international is also a good finisher from open play and set pieces.

World Football Rumours

According to the report, “Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin is the subject of serious interest from Newcastle United. The Magpies are eyeing a £35 million move for the England forward this winter or in the summer. Despite having Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson, Howe wants to boost his attacking options. Per The Sun, an offer could arrive for Calvert-Lewin as early as this month. While the club are not eager to sell, their financial situation may force their hand. Newcastle could be looking to move on Chris Wood to make room for Calvert-Lewin.”

Newcastle are showing interest in signing striker, but will have to dig deep to land him.

The Toffees would be wise to keep the England international, but if they do let him go expect it to be for a hefty sum.

Good signing for Newcastle United?

Undoubtedly, he would be a fantastic recruit for Newcastle.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has all the skillset required to be a success story at St. James’ Park. Therefore, it makes sense for Eddie Howe to step up his attempts to bring the English striker to Newcastle.

How strong that interest is and whether Newcastle will make a move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
