The defensive department of the Tottenham squad needs quality additions this winter. According to the football transfer rumours in British media, Tottenham Hotspur are hoping to sign France international Pierre Kalulu.

The France international joined AC Milan from Lyon B for a fee in the region of 1.3 million euros in September 2020. His contract expires in the summer of 2027.

The centre-back has made 21 appearances for Milan but is yet to score or register an assist for them this season across all fronts.

Kalulu has long been touted as one of France’s most promising young talents. The 22-year-old has represented France at Under-18, Under-19, Under-20, Under-21 and Under-23 level, winning 36 caps and scoring 2 goals.

His performances have seen him become the target of many European clubs including Tottenham Hotspur.

Antonio Conte sees Kalulu as the perfect addition to his defense. The former Lyon man is often quick to scan the danger and is not shy of getting stuck in with some well-timed tackles to help secure possession back for his side. His arrival would give Tottenham some much needed tactical flexibility.

The Premier League giants are hoping to improve their squad for boss Antonio Conte in the January transfer window. Signing a central defender is a key priority for Conte and sporting director Fabio Paritici. Inter Milan stars Alessandro Bastoni and Milan Skriniar are two options, while the links to Kalulu have emerged recently. Per Calciomercato, the Frenchman will become Spurs’ priority if they cannot convince Inter to sell Bastoni or Skriniar. Meanwhile, Newcastle United and Real Madrid are also monitoring Kalulu’s situation.”

It would take a huge offer from Tottenham to prise the 22-year-old centre-back from Milan.
