Tottenham Hotspur are keeping tabs on several right-backs across Europe, with one of them being Pedro Porro. The reports in Portugal suggested that Tottenham will look to sign Sporting CP right-back Pedro Porro.

The Spain international joined Sporting CP from Manchester City for a fee in the region of 8.5 million euros in July 2022. His contract is set to expire at the end of the 2024/25 campaign.

The right-back has featured in 16 matches for Sporting CP this term providing five assists.

He is considered to be one of the best right-backs in Spain. Porro has represented Spain at Under-21 level, winning seven caps, before making his senior international debut in March 2021. As a member of Spain national football team, Porro won one cap.

The 23-year-old will be high in demand this winter, with him having enjoyed a sublime season for Sporting this term.

Antonio Conte is looking to shore up his defensive options and Porro happens to be a target. Conte is a firm fan of Sporting right-back and Tottenham could make a move for the player if the financial aspect makes sense.

The Spurs are desperate to make an impact in the winter transfer window.

The former Manchester City man is comfortable playing out from the back and given Antonio Conte’s demands, that would fit in perfectly with his tactics. He will add a new dimension to Tottenham’s defense.

According to the report, “Sporting CP fullback Pedro Porro is on the radar of Tottenham. Tottenham Hotspur are ready to trigger Porro’s £39million release clause, potentially spelling the end of Emerson Royal’s career in north London. Correio da Manha says Spurs want to sign the Sporting Lisbon right-back in January. The 23-year-old impressed against Antonio Conte’s side in the Champions League group stage and is familiar with his preferred 3-4-3 system.”

Pedro Porro is a top-class talent and Sporting want to keep him at the club. The Premier League giants have to fork out a huge transfer fee if they are genuinely interested in the Spain international.

Good signing for Tottenham Hotspur?

If Tottenham and Conte are seriously considering a right-back, Pedro Porro could also prove to be a smart option.

Porro has all the skillset required to be a success story at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Therefore, it makes sense for Antonio Conte to step up his attempts to bring the Spanish right-back to Premier League side.

Stylistically, he would be a great fit in London.
