Youssoufa Moukoko is one of the brightest talents across Europe. The 18-year-old has not yet fully reached his prime. He’s incredibly experienced for a 18-year-old and still has tons of room for growth.

The Borussia Dortmund striker has also represented the Germany at various youth levels before going on to secure two senior caps for his country thus far.

There has been no movement on Moukoko agreeing a contract extension at Signal Iduna Park, and he will be on the radar of many European clubs during the winter.

World Football Rumours

According to the report, “Barcelona are eyeing Borussia Dortmund youngster Youssoufa Moukoko, who played in the World Cup at just 18 years of age. The Blaugrana believe they could win the bidding for the player and, therefore, gave up on Palmeiras whiz Endrick, who will sign for Real Madrid, considering that this would be a much more attractive operation. Moukoko’s contract expires on June 30. He has not renewed and Barça know that he wants to sign, but there must be consensus throughout the club to activate a move. The teenager is one of the great sensations of the Bundesliga. He has exploded this season with six goals and four assists, something that has helped him become a regular for the German side. He is much more accomplished than Endrick and adapted to European football, which is why Barça always considered him a priority option in the case of betting on the signing of a young attacker, says Sport. The Catalan club studied the Endrick operation with various meetings with his agents, who visited Barcelona on a regular basis, and the Brazilian was also invited to visit the facilities and speak with Xavi, but the club backed down when they learned the massive figures required for any deal. They consider that it is too high a risk at an economically difficult time, for which reason a firm offer was not submitted.”

However, Barcelona will have to balance the books before attempting to land Moukoko. They will have to come up with the right proposal to convince Moukoko to join the club.

Good signing for Barcelona?

Signing the 18-year-old would be a masterstroke from Xavi.

It is smart from the club to invest in younger players, rather than splashing out big money on experienced players with no resale value. Moukoko has all the skillset required to be a success story at Spotify Camp Nou. Therefore, it makes sense for Xavi to step up his attempts to bring the German striker to La Liga side.

Barcelona fans would certainly love to see him arrive at the club.
