Everton eyeing loan move for Rennes winger Kamaldeen Sulemana

There has been numerous wingers linked with Everton in past few months. According to the football transfer rumours in British media, Everton are eyeing loan move for Rennes winger Kamaldeen Sulemana.

Everton FC

Sulemana has been at Rennes since 2021 when he joined from Nordsjælland. His contract at Rennes is set to expire at the end of the 2025/26 campaign.

The winger has registered one goal and two assists in 18 matches this season on all fronts.

The 20-year-old has been touted as one of the brightest young prospects in Ghana. Sulemana has earned 15 senior caps for the Ghana national team but is yet to open his goal-scoring account for his nation.

His performances have seen him become the target of many Premier League clubs including Everton.

Frank Lampard sees Kamaldeen Sulemana as the perfect addition to his attack. Lampard needs to tighten up his attack and a winger would be a welcome addition. He is a firm fan of Rennes winger and Everton could make a move for the player if the financial aspect makes sense.

The former Nordsjælland man is a quick and agile wide player who loves to make a few driving runs with the ball out on the flanks. He is not afraid to take on his markers and can beat them with pace to set-up some promising goal-scoring opportunities for his teammates inside the opponent’s penalty area.

World Football Rumours

According to the report, “Rennes winger Kamaldeen Sulemana is a target for Everton. The Daily Mail says Everton have asked Rennes about taking Sulemana on an initial loan. The 20-year-old Ghana international was on Newcastle’s list but his £40million price tag put the Magpies off. Nevertheless, Sulemana is open to leaving Rennes during the January transfer window and could join Everton – who are currently fighting a relegation battle. Blues manager Frank Lampard is hoping Sulemana – who joined Rennais in the summer of 2021 from FC Nordsjaelland – will strength his forward line. However, Everton face stiff competition from Augsburg and Bournemouth for Sulemana’s services – despite the fact he has struggled with injuries this season.”

Considering they don’t have a big budget, the Toffees will have to be smart with the signings in the transfer window.

Good signing for Everton?

If Everton and Frank Lampard are seriously considering a winger, Sulemana could also prove to be a smart option. It is smart from the club to invest in younger players, rather than splashing out big money on experienced players with no resale value.

Kamaldeen Sulemana has all the skillset required to be a success story at Goodison Park. Therefore, it makes sense for Lampard to step up his attempts to bring the Ghanaian winger to Premier League side.

How strong that interest is and whether Everton will make a move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
