The attacking department of the Tottenham squad needs quality additions this summer. According to multiple reports emanating from England, Tottenham Hotspur are showing interest in Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic. The 28-year-old has been subject to interest from various Premier League clubs.

Fulham spent 24.7 million euros to sign the Serbia international from Newcastle United in the summer of 2018. He has three years left on his current contract which expires in 2026.

The striker has played 202 times for Fulham over the course of his career, scoring 108 goals and providing 22 assists.

He is considered to be one of the best strikers in Serbia. As a member of Serbia national football team, Mitrovic won 81 caps and he scored 52 goals.

His performances have seen him become the target of many European clubs including Tottenham.

The Spurs are delving into the transfer market for an experienced striker and have done well to identify the 28-year-old as a potential target.

The former Newcastle United man is a traditional number nine, who can become the focal point of the attack. He can become a target man and hold the ball up to bring other forwards into play. The Serbia international is also a good finisher from open play and set pieces.

Last season, Mitrovic broke the record for the most goals scored in a single Championship campaign, netting an incredible 43 goals in 44 appearances for Fulham as he fired them back into the top flight. There have previously been questions over whether or not he was good enough for the Premier League, but after scoring 11 in 21 outings this term, the striker has put an end to that debate. Spurs could be left desperate for a new number nine, with club captain Harry Kane heavily linked with a move to Manchester United.”

Tottenham will have to present a really enticing offer to bring Fulham to the negotiating table. The Spurs have the resources to tempt them but it will be interesting to see if they are willing to overpay for the player.
